The House of Transformation

Come for the beauty. Stay for the feeling.

There is something about this land that is difficult to put into words. The stillness between the church bells. The warmth held in old stone. The feeling that, for a moment, you can stop searching and simply be.

Casa della Metamorfosi is my home in Nulvi, a village in northern Sardinia. My invitation is to share the peace, connection and sense of possibility I have found here.

A note from Gio & Hope

I came to explore my roots. I found a way home.

I’m Gio Silanesu. I was born in Brisbane, Australia, with Sardinia woven into my heritage. When I came to this island, I wanted to understand more of where I came from: the land, the culture and the roots that connected my Australian life to a place across the world. In 2023, I made Sardinia my home.

For around thirty years, I worked in construction, bringing plans to life in timber, stone and concrete. In 2019, my work began moving towards leadership mentoring and spiritual coaching. My attention turned increasingly to the lives we create from within, and to the questions that still guide me: Who am I? Why am I here? What am I creating?

Here in Nulvi, those questions have room to breathe. Among the old streets, the church bells and the changing light across Anglona, I have found a peace and tranquillity that invite me to slow down. My connection to spirit feels deeply personal here. Something intangible in this land keeps asking me to listen, to be present and to trust what I discover.

I came looking for a connection to my ancestry. Along the way, I began to feel more at home within myself.

Then, on a trip back to Australia to visit family and host a retreat on the Gold Coast, I met Hope in Brisbane. We fell in love immediately. What began during a visit home became the beginning of a life we would choose together.

Hope shares my adventurous spirit. She is a spiritual warrior, full of love, life and courage, with a willingness to embrace the unknown. Together, we have chosen to make our home here in Nulvi and to share the life we are creating on this beautiful island.

We are both learning Italian and finding our way into the community, one conversation and one new connection at a time. There is something humbling and joyful about being learners together: listening, making mistakes and gradually finding our place in the everyday life of the village.

When I bought this historic home in 2025, my experience as a builder met my vision as a mentor. As I renew its rooms and spaces, I imagine the life they can hold: people gathering around a table, conversations that matter, laughter in the courtyard and quiet moments with no need to fill them.

That is the heart of Casa della Metamorfosi: the House of Transformation. Today, Hope and I want to welcome others into our loving home and share both our life here and the beauty of Sardinia. Our invitation is for people who feel drawn to pause, explore and reconnect. We want our guests to feel the warmth of being welcomed into a home that is loved and lived in, with space to enjoy good company and the freedom to simply be themselves. You might come for a personal stay, bring a retreat or journey here with a small group. There is room for your own way of experiencing this place.

You do not need to arrive with answers, or share my beliefs. Come with curiosity. Let the land, the village and the simple experience of being here offer you something of their own. We look forward to welcoming you into our home.

Beyond the door

A village to belong to. An island to discover.

Nulvi offers a different rhythm of Sardinia: village streets, church bells, living traditions and the rolling landscapes of Anglona.

Let curiosity lead you through the town, out into the countryside and towards the coast around Castelsardo. Leave room for the unexpected conversation, the long lunch, the view that asks you to stop.

For me, this is where adventure and stillness meet. You can spend the day exploring and return to a place that feels like home.
